DMOZ, also known as The Open Directory Project, was historically recognized as the largest, human-edited directory of the Web. It was a multilingual open-content directory of World Wide Web links that was maintained by a community of volunteer editors. DMOZ aimed to list and categorize websites in a comprehensive directory that was freely accessible to the public.
