Subfolder

Categories: S, SEO Glossary

A subfolder, also known as a subdirectory, is a separate section within the hierarchy of a website’s file system. It is identified in a URL by a forward slash “/” that follows the domain’s top-level domain (TLD) and is succeeded by the subfolder’s name. For instance, in the URL ‘non.agency/subfolder’, ‘subfolder’ represents a subfolder on the NoN Agency’s domain. Subfolders are often used to organize content into different categories or areas on a website, making it easier for users to navigate and for search engines to understand the site’s structure.
