Subdomain

Categories: S, SEO Glossary

A subdomain is a distinct section of a larger domain, essentially a subdivision that allows organizations to separate different areas of their website for organizational or navigational purposes. It is recognized by a unique prefix that precedes the root domain name, separated by a period. For instance, in ‘blog.non.agency’, ‘blog’ is the subdomain that exists within the ‘non.agency’ root domain. Subdomains function as separate entities, providing the flexibility to host different content or services, while still being associated with the main website.
