File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standardized network protocol used for the transfer of computer files between a client and a server on a computer network. FTP is commonly employed for uploading and downloading files to and from a website’s hosting server, enabling webmasters and content managers to update, manage, and back up their website’s content. This protocol facilitates the direct manipulation of files on the server, allowing for tasks such as file deletion, directory creation, and file renaming.
