Worth knowing
When you're running a local business, don't neglect to create informative content on the site.
For this client, we created a blog with advice articles, which improved the company's visibility. Recipients began to see the salon as an expert in the industry, which translated into bookings.

What industry is the client in and what problem did we solve?

The client operates in the service industry in Sydney, Australia.
He wanted his website to be more visible on Google and generate more inquiries about the service, which would eventually translate into personal visits.

Challenges

Companies in the service industry need to adapt their digital strategies in a way that allows them to attract inquiries. In this case, the call was the site's technological limitations, low traffic, and few inquiries.
The website built on the Squarespace platform did not give us the freedom to implement new solutions. On the other hand, the website was not generating traffic that would be followed by company recognition. The number of service bookings through the website was also a problem.

Step-by-step actions

We started with an SEO audit, which showed the full picture and the reasons why the site is not getting the expected traffic and conversions.
We then prepared a strategy that proposed activities related to SEO, rebuilding the structure of the site, building a blog with videos and Google Ads campaigns.
1
SEO optimization
The first year was basic SEO activities. They included improving and creating content, improving meta descriptions and internal linking.
2
UX optimization
The structure of the site, so that the user moves smoothly through the sub-pages and efficiently finds the information he or she needs, is important in terms of conversions. Good UX helps keep users on the site longer and encourages them to interact with the content.
3
Expanding the blog
We developed the blog with potential clients (site users) and search engine in mind. In the beauty industry, it is important to show the customer the effect they can expect. This is the role of blog articles, which educate customers and show the effects of the treatments offered.
4
Google Ads campaigns
A clear increase in traffic does not always translate into the expected conversion, even if the site is optimized for UX. In SEO, it's not the traffic that matters most, not even the most spectacular results. It's the conversions and sales that count. To boost organic efforts, we offered the client advertising campaigns on Google.

Our results

The estimated number of monthly visits from organic search results prior to the start of operations was 1990. It is now almost 8,000!
Before we started work (December 1, 2023), the site was appearing in the top ten Google results for 297 key phrases. Currently (as of September 19, 2024), the site appears on the first page of search results for 597 phrases. Almost 60% of the site's sessions are generated by organic results. The same is true for engagement sessions - most of them also provide traffic from the search engine.

Summary

We tailored the SEO strategy to the market and niche, in this case the beauty industry in Sydney. We focused on UX and content, which, along with SEO, contributed to the site's visibility. Organic traffic to the site increased significantly, and the site's position in search results also improved.

Our strategies are always flexible. We plan, act and see what is worth improving in organic efforts. Since the SEO goal for a company that operates locally is not website traffic, but salon visits, we suggested Ads campaigns to the client. Ads are an additional way to reach a wider group of people and fill the visit calendar more efficiently.
